History of Valley View, Texas

The City of Valley View was settled by the Lee family in 1870. The town started with 18 other families on their land in 1872. It is said Valley View was named after the beautiful view of Spring Creek Valley.

In 1873, a blacksmith shop was opened and it was used as the town's first school. By 1884 Valley View had grown to 250 residents and had three general stores. The town conducted business in cotton, livestock, and wheat. In 1886, the now BNSF Railway reached the Texas small town, which now had four church buildings and a hotel.  The Valley View Independent School District was incorporated in 1902. In 1903 the population boomed when telephone service was introduced, along with a new two-story brick schoolhouse and bank.

Although our town has continued to grow and change, the quaint southern charm of the city and the thriving growth of the business community has remained. Friendly faces, quality services, amazing products, and a commitment to serve the community is what you can expect from the members of our Chamber.

We'd love for you to join the growing list of Valley View area leaders and become a member today.
